Intent

There was an out-of-date framework for responding to unplanned incidents. The intent for our work was twofold: (i) design and embed a fit-for-purpose response framework; and (ii) build competence across all faculties in using the framework.

‍Impact

Building capability to respond to unplanned incidents can be challenging because, by their very nature, these incidents aren't everyday occurrences. We linked what people had to do, and how they had to do it, to their everyday work life, thereby enabling them to build capability and capacity outside of the incident response frame of reference. We also ran simulation exercises, where, using facilitation and coaching, people put their capabilities in an incident context and further developed them.
